The Columbus CARE Coalition provides hope and healing to individuals, families and neighborhoods experiencing trauma. The Coalition creates awareness and equips people and organizations to look at trauma through a different lens in order to respond in a positive and consistent way.

Mayor Andrew J.Ginther today presented his proposed 2024 Capital Budget, which includes $1.99billion for crime-fighting tools, technologies and facilities; projects toexpand the city’s affordable housing stock; new and renovated fire stations;new and improved parks, pools and community centers; resurfaced roadways; cityutilities and more. With $618 million in carryover funding, the proposed 2024Capital Budget is the largest in city history – a reflection of the region’scontinued growth as Central Ohio attracts new residents, businesses andvisitors at historic levels.
The capitalbudget was submitted via ordinance for consideration by Columbus City Council,which will hold the following public hearings to discuss the mayor’s proposal:
- Tuesday, July 2, at 4 p.m. - Virtual
- Monday, July 8, at 6 p.m. - Linden Community Center, 1350 Briarwood Avenue
- Tuesday, July 9, at 6 p.m. - Columbus Fire Academy, 3639 Parsons Avenue
“This budget demonstrates our commitment to strengthening community safety, affordable housing, and transit and utility infrastructure as our region grows in impact and influence,” said Mayor Ginther. “By putting in place the infrastructure needed to ensure that every resident is empowered and enabled to thrive, we are embracing smart and equitable growth in ways that improve quality of life and lay the foundation for a bright and prosperous future.”

Eddie Rickenbacker Day Celebration

The Rickenbacker Woods Foundation is hosting an event to celebrate the life of the famous racecar driver and pilot Caption Eddie Rickenbacker. Kids 8-11 join us for an afternoon of fun and learning!
Participants will learn about Eddie Rickenbacker's contribution to aviation and the science of flight through fun, hands on activities.
It is a free event. Lunch will be provided. Drop off begins at 11:45am.
Activities include discovering the story of the racecar driver and his impact on racing and aviation and designing and pitching your own race car, complete with speed specifications and racetrack details.
When you drop off your child/children, parents or guardians will be required to complete a participation form, waiver document and a short medical form to inform us if the child has any medical conditions.

Tax Time is hosting its largest free tax preparation event of the season! The event takes place at Nationwide Children’s Hospital’s Ann Isaly Wolfe Education Center on 575 South 18th Street, Columbus, OH 43205.
Super Saturday is a special event offering clients extra services on site that are not available at our regular services sites throughout the season.
Why make an appointment at this event?
- Free tax preparation appointments are offered all day from certified tax preparers.
- The Financial Empowerment Center will be offering appointments for clients to learn about its services and to sign up for free one-on-one financial counseling. This is available through a partnership with Jewish Family Services and the City of Columbus.
- FREE childcare is available during your appointment. A few restrictions apply.
- Free legal advice clinic from the Legal Aid of Southeast and Central Ohio. Topics include taxes, landlord-tenant, family law, consumer rights, probate, public benefits, criminal record sealing and general legal issues. Attorneys cannot answer criminal or traffic law questions. Individuals must be income-eligible for LASC services.
- Community booths will be on site offering a variety of helpful resources.

Tax Time Super Saturday

575 S 18th St, Columbus, OH 43205, USATax Time is hosting its largest free tax preparation event of the season! The event takes place at Nationwide Children’s Hospital’s Ann Isaly Wolfe Education Center on 575 South 18th Street, Columbus, OH 43205.
Super Saturday is a special event offering clients extra services on site that are not available at our regular services sites throughout the season.
Why make an appointment at this event?
- Free tax preparation appointments are offered all day from certified tax preparers.
- The Financial Empowerment Center will be offering appointments for clients to learn about its services and to sign up for free one-on-one financial counseling. This is available through a partnership with Jewish Family Services and the City of Columbus.
- FREE childcare is available during your appointment. A few restrictions apply.
- Free legal advice clinic from the Legal Aid of Southeast and Central Ohio. Topics include taxes, landlord-tenant, family law, consumer rights, probate, public benefits, criminal record sealing and general legal issues. Attorneys cannot answer criminal or traffic law questions. Individuals must be income-eligible for LASC services.
- Community booths will be on site offering a variety of helpful resources.

The Columbus CARE Coalition provides hope and healing to individuals, families and neighborhoods experiencing trauma. The Coalition creates awareness and equips people and organizations to look at trauma through a different lens in order to respond in a positive and consistent way.
